Dollars & Sense

Serving as a catalyst to create the next generation of investors and wealth-creators, the Dollars and $ense Financial Literacy program aids youth in understanding the wealth gap, applying basic budgeting, saving and investing principles and improving skills in public speaking, critical thinking and professionalism. This program is designed for youth (male and female) in grades 9 – 12. 

Curriculum

The 100 provides a curriculum structured around the following modules:

  • Understanding the Wealth Gap
  • Budgeting and Saving
  • Credit
  • Investing
  • Taxes
  • Insurance
  • Real Estate
  • Entrepreneurship

Application Process

Application Period: The registration period for the Dollars and $ense Program is open from October – January of each calendar year. 

Eligibility: Youth (male and female) in grades 8-12 are ideal candidates for the Dollars and Sense program.   On a limited basis, youth in the 8th grade may be accepted to participate in the program.  There are no associated program fees to participate in Dollars and Sense.  The 10-week program is offered during each spring semester on Sundays from 2:30-4:30pm.  Transportation is not provided.
